Philippe Grize

Engineer

Philippe Grize, born in 1969 in Paris, to a father from Neuchâtel and a mother from Lyon, studied there until obtaining his baccalaureate.

Grandson and son of Swiss mechanical engineers, Philippe Grize pursued engineering studies in Mechanical Engineering at EPFL in a spirit of perpetuating traditions and know-how, from which he graduated in 1998.

For 3 years, as a research assistant in the Laboratory of Management and Production Processes of Professor Rémy Glardon at EPFL, Philippe Grize worked on a comparison of production technologies, including the beginnings of 3D printing, applied to the manufacture of molds for plastic injection.

In 2001, Philippe Grize joined Posalux SA, a company based in Biel/Bienne, where he rose to the position of operations director. During his 13 years with this company, Philippe Grize discovered the unique expertise of the Jura Arc region in the field of microtechnology, and leveraged it to create high-precision production solutions for the automotive, electronics, and watchmaking industries.

In August 2014, Philippe Grize took over as head of the Engineering department at Haute Ecole Arc. Aware of the challenges facing Swiss industry, and particularly the very dense one in the region where HE-Arc is the engineering school, Philippe Grize puts the skills of HE-Arc Engineering at the service of companies that design, produce and market high value-added microtechnical products, an institution that puts needs at the heart of its operation.
